Ms Caitriona Heinl is Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS), based at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Singapore, where she specialises in cyber security issues. Prior to that, she was Leader of the Justice and Home Affairs policy group and Justice Steering Committee at the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA), Ireland. Ms Heinl’s work experience covers areas such as transnational crime, fundamental rights, data privacy and data protection, police/judicial cooperation, counterāterrorism, international security and cybercrime. She was previously a legal researcher on a European Commission study for the then DirectorateāGeneral Justice, Liberty and Security on nonālegislative measures to prevent the distribution of online violent radical content, as well as a member of a European Parliament project informing Irish citizens about its work.
