Fall Detection System for the Elderly at Smart Home
The Fall Detection System is designed to enhance the safety of elderly at home and optimising energy consumption by monitoring movement and audio patterns via a Passive Infra-Red sensor (PIR) and an Ultra-Sonic sensor (US).
Besides the primary function of fall detection, the sensory data will be used to enhance the home automation system by improving the experience of household members and optimizing the energy consumption.
Intelligent Water Energy Conservation System
The Intelligent Water Energy Conservation System is designed as an intelligent showering system that seeks to conserve energy through reducing water wastage during showers.
Water usage will be monitored via a flow meter and the results obtained will then be projected into a small LCD within the bathroom. Additionally, the water usage can be stored and tracked using the user’s smartphone. By doing so, users will be able to track their water usage trends and take appropriate actions to minimise their water usage.
