Authored 30 papers, co-authored 3 books and 4 international reports Energy advisor to governments and energy stakeholders (Americas, Europe, APAC). Member of IEA and IEEE including: USA Energy Policy Committee, Technical Program Chair of IEEE Energy Development & Power Generation Committee, Chair of IEEE International Practices SC and Secretary of IEEE Distributed Generation & Energy Storage SC. Degrees in Electrical Engineering (MS, PhD). Adjunct Professor at University of North Carolina in Charlotte, USA and Visiting Professor at AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland. Simon heads up Energy Solutions at SP-AusNet and is focused on developing SmartGrid/AMI managed services and where relevant, investment in SmartGrid and Grid products (software and engineering assets) which strengthen this offering. Simon also has business accountability for SP-AusNet’s meter data and meter provider obligations covering meter to market for gas and electricity meters. This includes over 700,000 high specification Electricity Smart Meters providing 48 reads per day. Prior to joining SP-AusNet Simon held CEO and General Manager roles in services business delivering large ICT programs and Managed Services to major companies mainly in the energy sector. Key areas included Full Retail Contestability, Splits and Mergers of Distribution and Retail businesses, Benefits realisation of major retailers billing platform consolidation, Insourcing and Outsourcing, including establishing Managed Service operations.

Maikel leads Accenture Smart grid Services across EALA. He is one of Accenture’s subject matter experts in AMI/Smart Grids, with over 16 years in the utilities consulting industry in 10+ European countries. Maikel has worked in all facets of the utility industry, from customer care & billing to Asset Management, Grid imbalance settlement and field service operations. He has been involved in AMI and Smart Grid pilots and roll-outs for Accenture since 2004 with a strong focus on the integration to back-end processes. Maikel provided oversight on the Amsterdam Smart City project, has managed several AMI Rollouts and conducted strategic engagements to grow Metering Operating & Installation companies both in the Nordics, in the UK and in the German market.

Ann is Accenture's Managing Director and Utilities Industry Lead for Asia Pacific. Ann has a particular specialism in the evolution of smart grids and smart cities. Her focus is on providing thought leadership in the areas of corporate strategy and complex business transformation. She has spent the last few years researching consumer engagement trends and has a clear point of view on the impact of emerging business models and known trends in the adoption of energy efficiency. She participates in the Executive of Smart Grid Australia and is the Chair of the Consumer Working Group.
